Kristen Allen is a wife, mother of two, and a close friend of Anne England, Favor’s founder. At the age of 35, Kristen was diagnosed with breast cancer, and, after having a lumpectomy, began her journey with chemotherapy and radiation.

In Kristen’s words, “A difficult part of this journey was the vulnerability that came with losing my hair—though I purchased wigs, head wraps and hats, nothing made me feel stylish and comfortable.”

“I found a silk scarf tucked away in a drawer and, through trial and error, finally perfected a look that made me feel like myself,” she said. “I was most comfortable wearing silk, but it was challenging to find anything that was still fun and sexy.”

After receiving compliments and questions on her scarves from other women in the treatment centers, Kristen saw a void in the market for silk scarves that catered to cancer patients. She was inspired to reach out to Anne, and within a week, Anne had sourced scarves from amazing European artists that were the proper size and material—and the Journey Collection was born.

“Our hope is to make women feel beautiful and confident during a very difficult time.”

Favor’s Journey Collection is a selection of bold silk scarves, intentionally curated for women undergoing chemotherapy, and inspired by the hope of helping women feel beautiful and sexy, even in the midst of such trials as cancer treatment and hair loss. A portion of sales will be donated to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer.

“Our hope is to make women feel beautiful and confident during a very difficult time—I believe that something as simple as a scarf can make someone's journey with cancer a little bit easier, as it did mine,” said Kristen.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Coralie Prevert describes her eponymous textile brand as “born in Florence and created in Paris,” greatly inspired by the vibrant cultures of Italy and France. Each scarf’s colorful pattern is complemented by a clever proverb or sentence that adds a certain je ne sais quoi to a classic accessory, one that Coralie describes as “the perfect accessory to transform yourself.”

Her scarves are classic but edgy and modern at the same time—bold colors and geometric patterns adorn each piece, complemented by a short phrase in black and white text. “I adore colors, but I love words too,” says Coralie. “I try to link the two.”
